Remove the CACHED_ATTR var if cache was not found.

The PVCS database selector has title "Project Database Selector",
when the selector is closed all remaining running commands are killed,
since they're not usefull any more.
This is a fix of issue #24445.

The project selector command changed not to use the current "PROJECT"
variable, since it should start at the root each time.
Also do not prepend "/" in the selector, since after issue #24413 was fixed,
the relative mount point dialog returns the full path when custom children list is provided.

Use just Strings to store the files abstract path, because paths, that
do not have a direct connection to files can be malformed
(e.g. "/" becomes "C:\" on Windows).
Also show full paths, when custom children list is provided.
This is a fix of issue #24413.
